Commitment to Core Values:
Rigor, Adaptability, Equity, and Access

The Harrison Central School District is committed to providing an educational program predicated on our core values of rigor, adaptability, equity, and access for all students. For twenty years, our commitment to these beliefs has informed our work on behalf of all students to create a learning environment that values and nurtures every child.

The District is committed to the ideals of the International Baccalaureate Program, which reinforces our core values and our aspirations for all students...to develop inquiring, knowledgeable, and caring young people who help to create a better and more peaceful world through education that builds intercultural understanding and respect.

Over time, the District has thoughtfully implemented the International Baccalaureate Program in grades six through twelve, offers an authorized International Baccalaureate High School Diploma Program, an International Baccalaureate Middle Years Program,  and is pursuing authorization to become an International Baccalaureate Primary Years Program.

The District’s “opening doors” approach to rigorous curriculum and instruction, and belief that “all means all” aligns with the IB values and ensures that every student develops their capacities to be inquirers, knowledgeable, thinkers, communicators, principled, open-minded, caring, risk-takers, balanced and reflective.

The District has been committed to providing opportunities for all students for the last twenty years.
