Harrison coaches work to develop programs based on communication, clear expectations, ongoing feedback, accountability and developing self-advocacy in our student athletes. NYSSMA Strings Club

The club is designed to assist students preparing for the New York State School Music Association (NYSSMA) evaluations, usually given in the spring. Students are asked to choose a solo musical selection from a body of work in the NYSSMA Manual. The selection will be appropriate for the student's current ability. Pieces are organized in six different levels. The students are asked to prepare scales specific to their instrument and level. Sight-reading is also practiced in the group as this is a component of the evaluation.
