Letter from the Principal
Dear Community Member or Visitor,
Welcome to our website, which serves as a reflection of our commitment to students. We hope you find it a useful resource. Louis M. Klein Middle School is committed to developing the unique social, emotional, and academic capacities of each student in our care. We pursue the district’s core values of equity, access, rigor, and adaptability in order to ensure that each student receives a differentiated experience. Each year we welcome fifth-graders from across our four elementary schools. We take pride in bringing together students from four elementary schools and providing them with the academic support necessary so that they can succeed according to their potential. In addition, social and emotional growth is embedded in the programs at our school as students progress through childhood, early adolescence, teenage, and young adult years.
Our school is committed to best practices in middle-level education. Each grade level is created around teams of teachers and students designed to create a personalized learning environment. We are an official International Baccalaureate Middle Years Programme (IBMYP). This is an enriched approach to teaching and learning that extends through 10th grade. The IBMYP program aligns with Harrison High School’ s International Baccalaureate Diploma Programme and is accessible to all students. In addition, almost the entire 8th grade completes the New York State Algebra I Regents curriculum providing them greater opportunities for studying advanced mathematics at Harrison High School. The middle school utilizes technology to support student learning, and students are taught in a blended environment that includes digital devices, and traditional materials.
Please feel free to contact the school if you have any questions. The office staff will ensure that you are placed in contact with the staff member most capable of assisting you. My door is open to you. I enjoy sharing the wonderful programs we offer, and discussing how I can partner with you to best serve your child.
Sincerely,
Scott Fried
